Allentown has new TV Ads!

Last night I'm watching 69 News at 5PM, and a commercial pops on that has the Mayor and his family in front of Johnny M's saying something nice about A-Town.

Whoa! Dude, is that really a good idea? Your Critics are going to go bonkers!

I only saw a quick piece of it, and if they showed it again at 10 PM, I missed it, so I can't give too many details about it. Last night I talked about it with my group, and it was pointed out that some will see it as a commercial to re-elect Pawsy, paid for by us. I hate thinking that, but all of the politicals do it. Every commercial for Pennsylvania ends with "Ed Rendell, Guv."

Do they really need to say that? I'll pretend I'm Daily Kos today, and ask that you discuss it in the thread. Guess we will see if anybody cares, Hunh?

On another note: I sent her flowers. She will get them at her job. Adviser dude said that his wife told him that sending flowers to a woman at her job is worth double points. He says he wrote about this in his novel, that I will see. Today's her Birthday. We've been dating for a month. She can't browse blogs at her job, but she does work at a desk, so she will have a place to keep them. I ordered them from Phoebe Home on Hamilton. I've never sent a woman Flowers before. I hope she likes them. Any thoughts guys? (or gals?) I'm really worried about this. I don't do romantic like stuff at all. I could use a guidebook.

I told you last night that I don't believe any current office holder should be doing any PSA's. Harhart and Semmel were horrible about that.
Isn't that nice that you sent her flowers! My God, are you an idiot? She blogs, and reads your blog, you think she doesn't see what an introvert you are?
This is not the place to discuss your relationship! You are now the laughing stock of the Blog world! It's a good thing so few people know who you are!

I CAN browse at Work, and the Flowers were wonderful! Hey Soccer Mom, don't be too hard on him, he's trying!

The commercials were done pro bono by WFMZ to promote the City of Allentown and remind the Lehigh Valley of the Queen City's arts, entertainment and sports assets. The mayor is who the mayor is, like him or dislike him, he is the elected leader of the city and should serve as its chief spokesman and proponent.

I don't get it. If the TV station is paying for it, why are you criticizing the mayor? Did you check this?

And on Tuesday, you said that Benett made a concession speech. I called her campaign today and they said she's still in it. What gives?

Anon 5;39, the concession speech that SHE ONCE GAVE was back in 2001 when she ran for mayor. You really need to pay attention when you read. I never said anything about her quitting this years congressional race. I won't insult you, but it seems you skimped over the details of my post, and haven't bothered to ever read my header: "A SLCKER WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN MAKE UP MY OWN VERSION OF THE NEWS!"

That means you take it for what it is, A Parody, okay?!

Anon 4:02, Thank you for the explanation. I doubt anybody really knew that was the drill. So WFMZ is doing it as part of their community commitment or obligation?
Do they have to file a statement or something listing that sort of stuff with the local Government somewhere?

I wonder what your date thinks about you stealing flowers from a little old lady at Phoebe Home?

Oh, I hope you meant Phoebe Floral, not Phoebe home.

I meant Phoebe Floral across from Cedar Beach. that's where Casey sent me, he said he buys them there for his wife. They had like a dozen different colors of Roses.
Now I'm stuck, it's going to be hard to top sending her Roses at the office.
