I don't know what everyone's issue is with Mayor P. When he took office he inherited a blue plate special of crap with a side of crap. People criticize him for our police dept. being too small. Blame Afflerbach for that one. Mayor P didn't hand the cops huge fat pensions. He has been adding more cops to the force. This stuff doesnt happen overnight. I've noticed more of a presence. What the hell is everyone's problem? Who would they rather see as mayor? (That question could be more trouble than it's worth.)

Mayor seems like a decent dude to me. I read the Allentown hater blog this morning, and the bitching about closings on Hamilton street. I have this College degree thing, and I learned a few things while there.
Bad businesses close. that Chinese place on Hamilton was terrible. House of Chen serves better food, even if it does look like a retro 50's saddle shoe dance club inside. In competition, some places end up closing. The Fed Grill owner came right out on TV and said that her problem was rising cost of supplies. (MEAT!)
Rite aid purchased all the Eckerds a while back. Why would they want two stores in close proximity? So the one at 733 hamilton closes, so you have to walk a few blocks to 7th and Allen? What do you want, a freakin shuttle bus?!!!
So how is it the mayor's fault that prices went up, Rite aid made a corporate decision, and that there were too many Chinese restauarants in close proximity?
It isn't. The moaners bitching don't want to be part of any solution that they can't be in charge, so all they do is bitch.
That's all they are good at.

i disagree about the two rite aids being in close proximity. that's a long walk, especially for many elderly patrons. i know from interviews the lanta changes hurt them. cvs has stores much closer together, i.e. 12th and 16th on liberty. the senior citizens at walnut, at 7th and 8th st. towers, will no longer have a pharmacy within walking distance.
generally speaking, i'm not interested in debating pawlowski with you. i submit this comment because i believe this closing drug store is a true dilemma for these seniors. thank you

Pinch me I'm irish!
So now I'm non-existant? Damn, no wonder I can't get a date, and I thought it was the big red glowing eye in the middle of my forehead.
So far I've been bitched out for being inconsiderate of old people. That's only fair. I can walk a few extra blocks to hit the drugstore, and they can't. I deserved that one.

So you think I'm someone else?
You're allowed to bitch dude, and I'm allowed to snark you, but you're the dude who jumped all over me when I started, and we've never even met. I'm still plain old Mark, but I'll be anybody you want me to be. call me Echo and the Bunny man, or one or the other, but leave me alone dude. I want to leave my comments open.
I'm not going to "poof" your comment, I want my buds to see what I'm putting up with. And I guess I'll have to turn the comment thing back on. thanks dude, for screwing with a good thing.

I won't approve a comment by a Bernie O'hare who keeps insisting I am someone else. I'm me, and I am not giving him any information that will let him find out exactly.
